Frequently Asked Questions

How do we get on your bidder’s list?

KUA offers free Contractor/Supplier registration and current solicitation notification service myvendorlink.com. Contractor/Supplier must register, for free, to access current solicitations.

Solicitations are matched with Contractor/Suppliers categorized by the specific commodity or service offered and Contractor/Suppliers are notified of upcoming opportunities.

When are the results available from a bid that has opened?

Initial results should normally be available 24 – 48 hours after the bid has been opened and will be posted on myVendorLink & demandstar. You may contact the Purchasing Division after the review period.

If I do not want to register with myvendorlink or demandtar is there another way to know what bids are currently being solicited?

Solicitations are also posted on the lobby of the Administration Building.

How can I find out the status of a project out for bid or under review?

The most up to date information can be found on myvendorlink, demandstar or you can contact the Purchasing Division.

What is the difference between a Request for Quote and a Invitation to Bid?

KUA requests quotes on informal projects where the total project costs are under $25,000. Invitation to Bid is a formal competitive solicitation document that is publicly advertised and requires a sealed bid response for projects with a total cost over $25,000.

What exactly does KUA buy?

KUA buys a wide variety of products, materials and services necessary for operations. A commodity and services list is available from myvendorlink and demandstar.

Does KUA have a minority or other Contractor/Supplier programs or preferences?

Not at the moment.
