Your new account will be billed a one-time charge of $15.00 for installation of service. If you transfer your service from one location to another or go to a vacation status, a $15.00 charge will be applied to your first bill.
Services can be turned on by visiting the KUA Customer Service Center or your request for service can be mailed or placed in the night deposit box along with the appropriate deposit. Please include a copy of your lease agreement if you are renting. If you are purchasing your house, please bring documentation showing that you have bought or are in the process of buying. KUA also requires a photo identification card including but not limited to the following: driver’s license, alien registration card, or passport.
We will be happy to take your service request by FAX providing all proper documentation is sent. Credit card or wire transfer can also pay deposits if you cannot visit our office or there is not enough time to send a deposit by mail.
Utility deposits are required to help protect customers who pay their bills from having to bear the costs incurred by those relatively few customers who do not pay their bill. Deposits must be paid before service can be initiated.
Residential electric deposits start at $340. A residential customer’s deposit may be waived if a credit check initiated by the utility reveals a satisfactory credit history as determined by the utility. KUA will need a social security number to complete this credit check.
Cash, credit card payments or wire transfers of money for deposits are accepted, and interest is accrued to cash deposits. Residential deposits and interest are refundable upon discontinuation of service, less the amounts due from the customer in the final bill. Deposits received prior to May 1, 2010 are governed by the previous tariff. If additional deposits are assessed after May 1, 2010, the entire deposit will be subject to this new tariff.
Additional deposits can be required if service is disconnected for nonpayment, checks have been returned by the bank for insufficient funds, the customer has write off accounts, the customer has filed bankruptcy (consistent with any court order), or tampering/current diversion are found.
Bills are due when rendered; however, payments are not considered past due unless received by KUA after the delinquent date listed on your bill. You will see two payment levels on your bill. One level will be the amount of your bill if paid on or before the delinquent date. The other level shown will be higher for payments made after the delinquent date.
If payment has not been received by the bill’s delinquent date, a reminder notice will be mailed to you. Service will be subject to termination if payment is not received by the cut off date listed on the reminder notice.
The most convenient way to pay your bill is through our eBill program or over the phone. We accept Master Card, Visa, Discover and Visa Check.
Bank drafting, which allows bills to be directly debited to your checking account, is also available upon request.
Utility bills may also be paid at any Amscot location.
Payments may also be made at the KUA Administration building at 1701 W. Carroll St in Kissimmee from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday – Friday, excluding holidays. For your convenience, a night drop box is located at the Carroll Street building for after hour’s payments.

Returned Check Charge
If a check or similar instrument fails to clear the institution on which it is drawn, regardless of the reason, a surcharge will be accessed for the handling of the check or instrument. The fee will be accessed as follows:
- $25.00 if the face value does not exceed $50.00
- $30.00 if the face value is more than $50.00 but does not exceed $300.00
- $40.00 if the face value is more than $300.00; or, 5% whichever is greater
If you need to terminate your service and it is inconvenient for you to visit our office, mail or fax a letter requesting service termination, KUA will be happy to take your termination request over the phone provided adequate identification can be provided.
If you plan to be a seasonal customer, inquire about our Vacation ON/OFF Plan. Vacation turn off or turn on requests will be accepted over the phone with proper identification.
