2005 Electrical Safety Calendars Now Available

KISSIMMEE, Fla., December 15, 11:15 a.m. – In an ongoing effort to increase public awareness of electrical safety, Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) recently sponsored a county-wide art contest for third, fourth and fifth grade students. The winning entries are featured in KUA’s full-color 2005 Calendar of Electrical Safety. Copies of the calendar are now available free of charge to the general public.

The winning entries are also available for viewing online at http://www.kua.com/Community/Features/StudentArt05/Index.aspx.

A total of 570 entries were received from 21 Osceola County elementary schools, including public, private and charter schools.

The featured student artists include:
— Bellalago Charter Academy – Ileana Coloma, grade 4
— Heartland Christian Academy – Lindsey Lloyd, grade 4
— Kissimmee Charter Elementary – Ashni Persad, grade 5
— Kissimmee Elementary – Alexa Viana Costa, grade 5; Jarynn Lowe, grade 3
— Life Academy – Lynnette Olivo, grade 5
— Mill Creek Elementary – Jodi Hennen, grade 5; Katherine Moya, grade 4; Ashley Ortiz, grade 3; Nathaniel Webb, grade 4
— Ross E. Jeffries Elementary – Elizabeth Weretka, grade 4
— Thacker Avenue Elementary – Fabian Arnau, grade 5

The calendars are being distributed at KUA’s Customer Service Center at 1701 W. Carroll Street in Kissimmee while supplies last.

KUA’s annual calendar project has received 35 local, state and national public relations and design awards since its inception in 1995.
