KISSIMMEE, Fla., December 4, 12:00 noon – Christine A. Beck, former vice president of customer service and marketing at Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA), died December 3 at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando. She was 54 and lived in Kissimmee.

In her 15-year career at KUA, Beck weathered hurricanes, a tornado, winter freezes and massive technological upgrades to establish a high level of customer service to better serve those who purchase utilities and Internet service from KUA.

At her retirement in January 2003, Beck stated, “It’s been very satisfying work to be able to see a customer who’s had a problem and help them get it resolved. This has been a dream job for me, and I will miss it.”

Beck is survived by her husband, Stuart Gleman, of Kissimmee. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that gifts be made to the Beck/KUA Scholarship Fund at the Osceola County campus of Valencia Community College.

Founded in 1901, KUA is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility serving 61,000 electric, water and Internet customers in five Central Florida counties.
