KISSIMMEE, Fla., March 14, 9:30 a.m. – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) field service specialist Mathew Baker and his wife Monica will be featured in tonight’s broadcast of Birth Day Live! on the Discovery Health Channel.

Birth Day Live! is six hours of live births and features on babies, birth and pregnancy in America today. The broadcast, a partnership between Discovery Health Channel and the March of Dimes, will emanate from three hospitals: Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida; Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women in San Diego, California; and Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The series is designed to focus attention on the issues surrounding a healthy birth and the growing incidence of premature births in the U.S., estimated by the March of Dimes to be 467,000 each year.

The Baker’s daughter, Macy Marie, was born Feb. 12 at Florida Hospital – three months premature. Her birth weight was 1 lb., 11 ozs.

After two surgeries to repair a heart valve, Macy has gained six ounces. She continues her daily struggle for survival.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
