KISSIMMEE, Fla., June 12, 9:00 a.m. – In an interesting twist of irony, Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) has postponed tonight’s hurricane preparedness meeting at Good Samaritan Village in Kissimmee because of threatening weather from Tropical Storm Alberto.

The meeting has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27 at the same location, Good Samaritan Village Community Center, 1421 Hoeger Circle in Kissimmee.

“Our biggest concern is for the safety of Osceola County residents,” said Chris Gent, KUA’s manager of corporate communications. “We felt the appropriate thing to do is to reschedule the meeting.”

Alberto is expected to bring gusty winds, heavy rains and potential flooding to Central Florida through Tuesday.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
