KISSIMMEE, Fla., February 28, 1:00 p.m. – In recognition of its creative excellence, Kissimmee Utility Authority’s 2003 annual report received a gold ADDY® award at a ceremony held on February 25 at Universal Studios CityWalk.
Sponsored by the Orlando club of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the ADDY® awards are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, recognizing creative excellence and the very best advertising worldwide. The ADDY® Awards are unique among competitions because it includes three rigorous levels of judging: local, regional and national/international.
KUA’s annual report — titled “ON” — features a financial summary of 2003 as well as a narrative on the many ways electricity impacts our daily lives. The report brings attention to just a few of the many luxuries, conveniences and life-saving devices that exist because electricity powers them. An electronic version of the report is available on KUA’s website at http://www.kua.com/Corporate/Press/Reports/2003/2003_Annual.pdf.
The annual report was produced by KUA with assistance from graphic designer Popcorn Initiative and commercial photographer Ed McDonald. Popcorn Initiative received the gold ADDY® award in the 4-color annual report division.
The entry will now advance to the AAF Fourth District where it will compete with entries from Florida, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
Founded in 1901, KUA is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric, water, and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
