KUA Announces Student Art Contest Winners

KISSIMMEE, Fla., January 2, 1:30 pm – In an ongoing effort to increase public awareness of electrical safety, the Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) sponsored an art contest for all third, fourth and fifth grade students in Osceola county. The winning entries appear in KUA’s 2001 Calendar of Electrical Safety.

The winners are:

Cypress Elementary – Bryan Castillo, grade 5
First United Methodist – Jessica Crohe, grade 3; Alyson McCoy, grade 4; Amisha Tailor, grade 3
Heritage Christian – Samantha Gonzalez, grade 4
Mill Creek Elementary – Brian Carter, grade 5; Jasmine King, grade 4; Michael Suarez, grade 3
Narcoossee Community School – Kaitlyn Bubb, grade 5
Ross E. Jeffries Elementary – Yvette Santana, grade 4
Ventura Elementary – Richard Muniz, grade 5; Raymond Scavone, grade 3

Every student who submitted artwork to KUA was honored with a letter of appreciation, a copy of the full-color calendar, and a chance to win four tickets to the Disney park of their choice. The twelve winning students each received a $75 cash prize.

The winning entries are featured in the 2001 calendar with each winner’s name, grade, art instructor, and school appearing with the artwork. The calendars are being distributed to the public FREE OF CHARGE at KUA’s Customer Service Center at 1701 W. Carroll Street in Kissimmee until supplies last.
