KISSIMMEE, Fla., October 29, 2010 – For the fifth year in a row, Kissimmee Utility Authority’s annual financial report has received top honors in a national annual report contest conducted by the American Public Power Association.
The award was presented this week at the association’s annual Customer Connections Conference in Anaheim, Calif.
KUA’s 2009 annual report—titled “Let it Shine”—won the Award of Excellence among electric utilities nationwide with gross annual revenues of $75-$199 million.
The awards were judged based on the effectiveness of the written text, design, photography and graphics, financial data and clear communication of the utility’s story.
Developed as a public information resource, KUA’s 2009 annual report shines a light on the utility’s partnerships with local nonprofits and government agencies that are working tirelessly to help those in need during these difficult financial times. APPA has honored KUA annual reports previously with Awards of Excellence in 1995, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007 and Awards of Merit in 1994 and 2008.
