KISSIMMEE, Fla., August 3, 2011 – The Kissimmee Utility Authority board of directors on Wednesday approved a request by the Kissimmee City Commission to increase the electric utility transfer millage rate from 6.24 mils per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to 6.91 mils per kWh.
This increase will enable the City to maintain its current level of public services to the community while keeping the transfer rate lower than those of other municipally-owned electric utilities in Central Florida.
This action will result in an increase of 67 cents on an average monthly KUA bill of 1,000 kWh, but does not affect the utility’s electric base rate.
Founded in 1901, KUA (http://kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 64,000 customers in Osceola County, Fla.
