KISSIMMEE, Fla., Sept. 27, 12:00 p.m. – Kissimmee Utility Authority president and general manager Jim Welsh has joined the faculty of the American Public Power Association’s 2006 Management and Leadership Workshop.

Held in Tucson, Ariz. on Oct. 2-4, the workshop is designed to train rising CEOs and senior managers from utilities throughout the U.S. Participants will explore the role and responsibilities of the CEO and senior managers and they will learn effective techniques for setting the vision and strategic direction of an organization, managing people, resources and change.

Welsh’s course topic, entitled “Creating a Vision for Your Organization,” will examine processes used to create a strategic vision for an organization and how a leader can use that vision to propel and guide organizational change.

Welsh has led the electric utility in Kissimmee since 1982.
