KISSIMMEE, Fla., September 11, 4:45 pm – Customer service representative Sarah Tompkins of Kissimmee has been honored for 25 years of service by the Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA). Tompkins is the first woman to reach a quarter century of service in the utility’s 101-year history.
“I am proud to present this plaque to the first woman in the history of this utility to achieve 25 years of service,” said KUA President & General Manager Jim Welsh. “A woman who emulates everything we stand for, Sarah reflects the best of everything. She is a hard worker. She is spirited, committed, positive, and a real leader. Sarah has shown us time and again how to give back to our company and community.”
When asked about reaching this milestone, Tompkins said, “This was a personal goal that I set for myself over 10 years ago. I have stayed this long because it is wonderful to work for a company that really cares about its employees. KUA has always been supportive of my involvement in community activities, and the people I work with are a wonderful group of individuals.”
Tompkins was recognized for the milestone with a plaque presented by KUA’s Board of Directors.
KUA is Florida’s 6th largest community-owned utility and its 289 employees serve 58,000 electric, water and internet customers in four Central Florida counties.
