KISSIMMEE, Fla., September 7, 4:45 p.m. – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) has rejoined the massive effort to restore power to customers impacted by Hurricane Katrina.

KUA has sent two of its contract tree trimming crews to Gulfport, Miss. A third crew may be dispatched to that same region later this week.

KUA sent line crews and tree trimming crews to south Florida in August to help restore power after Hurricane Katrina made its initial landfall before heading to the Gulf Coast.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
