KISSIMMEE, Fla., August 3, 2012 – For the twelfth time in its history, Kissimmee Utility Authority has been named one of the top 100 companies for working families in Central Florida.
The list, compiled by the Orlando Sentinel, recognizes employers in the region that offer progressive and forward-thinking programs and benefits that make family a top priority.
The Orlando Sentinel considers a number of areas to determine its annual rankings, including core benefits, family-related benefits, work environment, communication and training. An independent panel of judges, comprised of local human resources experts, determined the Top 100 by measuring the strength of each company’s family-related benefits against the quantity of those benefits.
“Challenging economic times mean family-friendly companies matter more than ever,” said Wilbur Hill, KUA’s vice president of human resources. “We’ve worked hard this past year to create and maintain programs, policies and benefits that support our employees and enable them to meet their personal and professional goals.”
Top 100 companies were formally recognized at an awards luncheon held Friday at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando.
Founded in 1901, KUA (http://kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 64,000 customers in Osceola County, Fla.
