KISSIMMEE, Fla., January 3, 8:30 am – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) has named Jeffery S. Gray as the company’s director of information technology.

Gray will have management responsibility for all technology functions within KUA, including business and office applications, computer hardware and software purchases, corporate e-mail, and internet/intranet connectivity. In addition, he will oversee the day-to-day operations of KUA.net, the internet division of the utility.

“Information technology is a vital and challenging component of any organization,” said KUA President & General Manager Jim Welsh. “As we move into a new millennium, it’s critical that KUA has an organizational structure in place that enables us to meet these challenges. Jef brings both experience and leadership to this effort.”

Gray took over his new responsibilities on December 13. He previously served as director of information technology at Aiken Electric Cooperative, a utility serving nine western South Carolina counties.

KUA is Florida’s 7th largest municipally-owned utility serving 53,000 electric, water and internet customers in five Central Florida counties. KUA celebrates its 100th year of serving the community in 2001.
