KISSIMMEE, Fla., May 1, 2:30 p.m. – In an effort to beautify the community while shading buildings to reduce consumer energy costs, the Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) is giving away free red maple trees to its customers in Osceola County, while supplies last.

KUA’s Tree Power program is also designed to educate consumers about the importance of tree trimming and planting the right tree in the right place to avoid interference with power lines and other utility infrastructure.

The trees are available to residents, businesses, schools and other groups. Limit five trees per customer.

The trees are available at KUA’s customer service center at 1701 W. Carroll Street in Kissimmee.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
