KISSIMMEE, Fla., December 13, 10:45 am — Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its 2001 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
The Certificate of Achievement is the nation’s highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by KUA and its management.
KUA’s CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The Certificate of Achievement will be formally presented to the KUA Board of Directors at its December 18th meeting. The 2001 award marks the 16th consecutive year that the utility has received the Certificate of Achievement.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 14,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
