KISSIMMEE, Fla., September 6, 7:30 p.m. – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) crews worked into the night on Monday to restore power to customers across Osceola County. The utility reported Monday evening that 300 customers remain without power as a result of Hurricane Frances. KUA has successfully restored electric service to 57,700 customers capable of receiving power, or 99.5 percent.

KUA expects to restore service to all customers capable of receiving power by dusk on Tuesday.

Customers who have experienced electrical damage to their home, such as to their “weather head” or meter base, should contact a licensed electrician to make the necessary repairs.

Daily thunderstorms may continue to cause isolated power outages. KUA customers who lose power should call the utility’s 24-hour outage line at 407-933-7777.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric service to 58,000 customers in Osceola County.
