KUA Welcomes New Board Member, Elects Officers

KISSIMMEE, Fla., August 26, 9:30 a.m. – James R. Kasper took the oath of office on Wednesday evening to become the newest member of the Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) board of directors.

Immediately following his swearing in, an election of officers was held. Nancy Gemskie was elected chairman of the board. The board also elected Domingo Toro as vice chairman, Bill Hart as secretary and Fred Cumbie as assistant secretary. Kasper will serve as director.

“I congratulate the new board officers on their elections, and look forward to working with such a strong and diverse team of leaders,” Gemskie said.

Kasper is owner of Kasper Real Estate in Orlando. He holds a degree from Orlando Junior College and is a 40-year resident of Kissimmee. Kasper currently serves on Osceola County’s Industrial Development Board and previously served on the City of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Board.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric service to 58,000 customers in Osceola County.
