KUA Wins 3 Statewide PR Awards

KISSIMMEE, Fla., August 18, 2015 – Kissimmee Utility Authority won three awards at the 2015 Golden Image Awards, an annual statewide competition sponsored by the Florida Public Relations Association. The winners were announced at the association’s 77th annual conference held last week in Kissimmee.

The competition recognizes companies and organizations that exhibit and employ comprehensive public relations projects that meet the highest standards of excellence in four components of PR programming: research, planning, execution and evaluation.

An Award of Distinction is presented to an entry that meets the standard of excellence set by a panel of judges. A Judges’ Award is presented to an entry that achieves maximum results while using a minimum amount of money.

In the public relations programs division, KUA received a Judges’ Award for its 2014-15 Movie in the Park series, a six-month series that drew more than 10,000 residents to Kissimmee Lakefront Park.

In the poster and calendar category, the utility received an Award of Distinction for its 2014 Calendar of Energy Conservation.

In the institutional video category, KUA received an Award of Distinction for its Q4 video series, a quarterly informational update from utility president and general manager Jim Welsh.

KUA has earned 282 local, state, national and international communication awards for public relations programs, special events, community relations and publications since 1995.
