KUA Wins Two National Communications Awards

KISSIMMEE, Fla., October 22, 2015 – Kissimmee Utility Authority on Wednesday earned two of the nation’s top awards for excellence in utility communications from the American Public Power Association. The awards were presented at the association’s Customer Connections Conference in Austin, Texas.

KUA received the award of excellence in both the social media and video categories. The awards recognized the utility’s social media campaign that was used to promote its 2014-15 Movie in the Park series as well as its Q4 video series, a quarterly news and information show hosted by KUA president and general manager Jim Welsh.

“Your entries represent a committed effort to excellence on the part of the utility and its communications department,” said APPA President and CEO Sue Kelly. “I want to commend all Kissimmee Utility Authority staff involved.”

Founded in 1901, KUA (http://kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility powering 67,000 customers in Osceola County, Fla.
