KISSIMMEE, Fla., December 8, 2008 – Rusty White, lead meter technician, has been named Kissimmee Utility Authority’s 2008 employee of the year.

The selection was announced at an employee holiday luncheon held last week at the utility.

White began his career at KUA on August 1, 1994. He is responsible for the inspection, testing and maintenance of the utility’s more than 71,000 electric meters.

White was chosen from this year’s 12 employees of the month. With this honor comes a plaque, a $400 U.S. Savings Bond, two days off with pay and a reserved parking space.

“Rusty is one of those employees who continually goes the extra mile,” said KUA president and general manager Jim Welsh. “He is committed to making a difference, one customer experience at a time.”

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
