Thacker Confirmed to Fill Unfinished Term on KUA Board

KISSIMMEE, Fla., July 7, 2010 – The Kissimmee City Commission on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of retired school psychologist Kathleen Thacker to fill the unfinished term of Nancy Gemskie on the Kissimmee Utility Authority board of directors.

Gemskie, whose term ends Sept. 30, resigned three months early from the utility board to run for a seat on the Osceola County School Board.

Thacker will be sworn into office at the board’s August meeting and will serve until September 30. On October 1, she will begin her own five-year term on the board.

A graduate of St. Cloud High School, Thacker holds degrees from Florida State University and Western Carolina University. She is a seven-year resident of Kissimmee and a graduate of the Kissimmee School of Government.
