Two Apply for Open KUA Board Seat

KISSIMMEE, Fla., May 9, 12:30 p.m. – Two Kissimmee residents have submitted applications to serve on the board of directors of Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA). The deadline for completed applications was April 29.

The applicants include:

– Joseph L. Colon, 1610 Sanibel Drive, a retired consumer litigation executive. He holds a degree from Pace University in New York, N.Y. Colon is a two-year resident of Kissimmee.

– Nancy F. Gemskie, 2510 W. Janet St., a retired insurance executive and a Kissimmee resident since 1995. Gemskie currently serves on the KUA board of directors and will complete her first term on Sept. 30, 2005.

The term of director is five years, and an individual can serve two consecutive terms.

The KUA board will interview applicants at a special meeting at 4 p.m. on May 11. The board will then select one applicant whose name will go before the Kissimmee City Commission for final confirmation on May 17. The candidate confirmed by the City Commission will be sworn in at the board’s October meeting.
