KISSIMMEE, Fla., December 29, 2011 – Kissimmee Utility Authority has released its 2012 calendar of energy conservation, featuring the winning entries from its annual student art contest.
The calendars are available free of charge while supplies last at KUA’s customer service center, located at 1701 W. Carroll Street in Kissimmee.
Open to Osceola County students in kindergarten through fifth grade, the contest is designed to promote energy conservation among students and their families. This year, a total of 2,660 entries were received from 31 Osceola County elementary schools, including public, private and charter schools – the largest number of entries ever received in the annual contest.
This year’s winners are:

— Deerwood Elementary – Josué E. Colon, grade 5
— Flora Ridge Elementary – Maximus Rivas, grade 4
— Harmony Community School – Willem Speyrer, grade 2
— Kissimmee Charter Academy – Isaiah T. Rayside, grade 3
— Kissimmee Elementary – Monet Davis, grade 5
— Osceola Virtual School – Micah Mulford, grade 4 (Grand Prize)
— Partin Settlement Elementary – Al-sadh Imadh, grade 3
— Pleasant Hill Elementary – Hannah Muller, grade 4; Malynn Sunny Villas Boas, grade 3
— PM Wells Charter Academy – Gloria Marrero, grade 3
— Trinity Lutheran School – Robert A. Brea, grade 5
KUA’s annual calendar project has received 51 local, state and national public relations and design awards since its inception in 1995.
