Utility Wins Three APEX 2012 Awards

KISSIMMEE, Fla., July 6, 2012 – Kissimmee Utility Authority today was honored with three awards in APEX 2012, the 24th annual awards program recognizing excellence in printed and online publications.

APEX 2012 winners were chosen from nearly 3,400 entries received from government, private corporations and nonprofit organizations throughout the United States and Canada. Grand Awards honor outstanding work in the competition’s 11 major categories. Only 100 Grand Awards were handed out in 2012. Awards of Excellence recognize exceptional entries in each of the 130 sub-categories.

KUA was the only electric utility in Florida to be honored in this year’s competition. Other notable Florida winners included Publix Super Markets, Inc., Florida State University, USF Alumni Association, and the Walt Disney World Resort.

KUA has earned 266 local, state, national and international communication awards for public relations programs, events and publications since 1995.

Founded in 1901, KUA (http://kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 64,000 customers in Kissimmee, Fla.
