PALM BEACH, FL — At their annual conference in Palm Beach, members of the Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) elected Brian Horton, President and General Manager of Kissimmee Utility Authority, as president of the organization’s board of directors.

“This association is immensely important to me, and I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve as its president over the next year,” Horton said. “There will be many opportunities and challenges ahead, and I know FMEA will be there to guide its members on a path forward to success.”

Horton has been chief administrator of KUA since April 2019. He is a Certified Public Manager and holds both a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Electric Engineering from Florida State University. “Public power not only relies on a strong network of support, but also a leadership team that is dedicated to providing our members with the resources and expertise they need to ensure customers have clean, affordable and reliable power,” said Amy Zubaly, FMEA Executive Director. “I am grateful to Brian and the other officers for agreeing to serve the association and I look forward to the accomplishments we will achieve together.”
