KISSIMMEE, Fla., September 11, 2:15 pm – Given this morning’s events, the Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) has taken special steps to protect its employees and to assure the continuing reliability of electric service in Osceola county. No threats have been received. Utility officials do not discuss details of its security measures, but KUA has taken the following precautions to protect its customers throughout the state:
– KUA has locked down its Roy E. Hansel Generating Station in downtown
– KUA has stationed employee personnel at all eleven of its electric substations scattered throughout Osceola county.
– All KUA maintenance crews are on duty and are standing by to respond to any event that might occur.
