KISSIMMEE, Fla., September 1, 9:00 a.m. – In recognition of its creative approach to graphic design, Kissimmee Utility Authority’s 2005 annual report and power plant decommissioning poster were honored on Thursday with awards of excellence in the 2006 American Graphic Design Awards.
Sponsored by Graphic Design:usa magazine, the American Graphic Design Awards honor new, outstanding graphic design, advertising art and marketing communications. The awards program is judged by a national panel of creative professionals hailing from prominent graphic design firms, advertising agencies and corporate design departments.
KUA’s 48-page annual report — titled “A Lifetime of Power” — pays tribute to the utility’s Roy E. Hansel diesel plant which was decommissioned in September 2005 after 104 years of continuous service. The report is available online at http://www.kua.com/Corporate/Press/Reports/Index.aspx.
The poster was developed to mark the decommissioning of the Hansel plant. Free copies of the 24” x 36” black and white poster are available upon request by contacting KUA at 407-933-9838 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
KUA has earned 192 local, state, national and international communication awards for public relations programs, special events, community relations and publications since 1995.
