KISSIMMEE, Fla., August 28, 10:00 a.m. – Nearly 1,000 customers of Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) lost power for 90 minutes Monday morning following a construction accident. No injuries were reported.
At 7:33 a.m., a backhoe being used by a construction crew on Old Vineland Road in Kissimmee struck a utility pole and brought down a 13,200-volt power line. KUA crews rebuilt the line and restored power at 9 a.m.
The construction crews were not affiliated with the utility.
