
KISSIMMEE, Fla., October 23,
9:30 am – Fred H. Cumbie, Jr. was sworn in Wednesday evening as a director of Kissimmee
Utility Authority following his appointment by the KUA Board of Directors and unanimous
confirmation by the Kissimmee City Commission.
Cumbie was sworn in at KUA’s headquarters in Kissimmee and immediately participated in his
first KUA Board meeting. “I’m honored to have been appointed to this post, and I’m ready to
get to work,” Cumbie said.
Cumbie joins vice chairman Don Shearer, secretary Domingo Toro, assistant secretary Nancy
Gemskie, and director Bill Hart on the five-member Board. “We are delighted to have Fred
Cumbie on the KUA Board,” said Shearer. “He brings a record of success and experience in
private business, community leadership, and public service that will be a strong addition to
our leadership team.”
Cumbie is president of the law firm Overstreet Miles Ritch & Cumbie, P.A., and holds degrees
from Florida State University College of Law and the University of South Florida. Cumbie is
a 31-year resident of Osceola County and past president of the Osceola County Council on
Aging, Inc.
Founded in 1901, KUA is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility serving 61,000
electric, water and Internet customers in five Central Florida counties.
