Gant Named Chamber Ambassador of the Year

KISSIMMEE, Fla., February 5, 2013 – During its 88th annual meeting held Saturday at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce named Kissimmee Utility Authority secretary Dr. George Gant its 2012 Ambassador of the Year.

Chamber ambassadors are a group of volunteers who support the organization’s overall mission of member acquisition and retention. Ambassadors welcome new Chamber members, attend ribbon cuttings, visit member businesses periodically and answer questions about the services and benefits the Chamber has to offer.

Gant is former mayor and commissioner for the City of Kissimmee and retired medical director of the Osceola County Health Department. He holds a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine, and is a 53-year resident of Kissimmee.

Gant currently serves on the KUA board of directors where he has served as director, assistant secretary, vice chairman and chairman. He currently serves as a member of the Florida Municipal Power Agency’s Policy Makers Liaisons Committee.
