KISSIMMEE, Fla., July 18, 2008 – Members of the Florida Municipal Power Agency on Thursday elected Kissimmee Utility Authority vice chairman Nancy Gemskie as chair of the agency’s newly formed Policy Makers Liaisons Committee. The election was held at FMPA’s annual meeting in Fort Myers, Fla.
The purpose of the committee is to facilitate the education of elected or appointed governing body members of FMPA’s member utility systems, and to foster opportunities for greater communication and knowledge among governing body members regarding the business and projects of FMPA.
Gemskie joined the KUA board in October 2000 and has served as director, assistant secretary, secretary, vice chairman and chairman.
A retired insurance executive, Gemskie holds other committee positions with the American Public Power Association and the Florida Municipal Electric Association.
