KISSIMMEE, Fla., July 14, 3:00 p.m. – Nancy Gemskie, chairman of the Kissimmee Utility Authority, and Jim Welsh, president and general manager of the utility, will offer a joint presentation at the 2006 FMEA-FMPA Annual Conference on Thursday, July 20, 2006 in Naples, Fla.
The presentation, titled “Evaluating the CEO from Top and Bottom,” will examine methods of strengthening the partnership between a board of directors and CEO while increasing independence and objectivity in CEO oversight, evaluation and performance management.
The annual conference is Florida’s premiere gathering for utility executives to meet and exchange ideas and information with their peers. The conference attracts hundreds of utility representatives from throughout the state.
The Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) represents the unified interests of 33 public power communities across the state, serving a total of 2.8 million Floridians. Municipal electric utilities provide low-cost, reliable electric service, and have been doing so for over a century. Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) is a wholesale power agency supporting the energy needs of 29 municipal electric utilities in the state.
