KISSIMMEE, Fla., August 13, 2009 – Kissimmee Utility Authority’s 2008 interactive annual report this week captured three statewide awards in the 2009 Golden Image Awards, an annual competition sponsored by the Florida Public Relations Association.
The utility’s annual report earned one of the competition’s biggest honors – a Grand Golden Image Award — as well as a Golden Image Award and a Judges’ Award. Only three Grand Golden Image Awards are handed out each year.
The competition recognizes companies that exhibit and employ comprehensive public relations projects that meet the highest standards of excellence in four components of PR programming: research, planning, execution and evaluation.
A Golden Image Award is presented to the top-scoring entry in a respective category. A Judges’ Award is presented to an outstanding entry that achieves maximum results while using a minimum amount of money. Golden Image Award winners in each division are automatically considered for the Grand Golden Image Award, representing the finest examples of public relations programming in Florida.
Developed as an informational resource, KUA’s 2008 annual report treats visitors to a whimsical online experience and allows them to learn more about the utility while exploring the Kissimmee area along the way. The report features illustrations of familiar community landmarks, a short narrative at each stop, and complete financial highlights with downloadable statements, charts and graphs. The awards were presented in conjunction with FPRA’s 71st annual conference, held Aug. 9-12 in Boca Raton.
