KISSIMMEE, Fla., December 6, 2016 – Accounting technician Karen Barnett has been named Kissimmee Utility Authority’s 2016 employee of the year.
KUA president and general manager Jim Welsh announced Barnett’s selection during an employee holiday gathering on Saturday evening.
The Employee of the Year Award recognizes and rewards exemplary performance by KUA employees based on both performance of their responsibilities as outlined in their position description and on their specific contributions to the mission, goals and values of the utility.
With the honor comes a plaque, $200 cash, two days off with pay and a reserved parking space.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Pueblo, Colorado, Barnett began her career at the utility in 1997 as a part-time teller.
