KISSIMMEE, Fla., October 17, 2008 – Elementary school artists have until Oct. 31 to enter Kissimmee Utility Authority’s electrical safety art contest and earn a chance to win a $100 cash prize.
The annual talent hunt is open to Osceola County students enrolled in kindergarten through grade 5, including public, private and homeschooled students. A panel of local celebrity judges will select twelve of the entries to be featured in KUA’s 2009 Calendar of Electrical Safety.
The entry form for this year’s contest is provided as an electronic download from the utility’s Web site at www.kua.com/calendar. The form can be printed and duplicated as needed.
Every student who submits artwork will be honored with a letter of appreciation, an opportunity to win four 2-day/2-park tickets to Universal Studios Florida and a copy of the full-color calendar. In addition, the twelve winners will each receive a $100 cash prize.
The calendars will be distributed free of charge in December 2008.
Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
