KISSIMMEE, Fla., October 28, 2009 – For the fourth year in a row, Kissimmee Utility Authority’s annual financial report has been honored in a national annual report contest conducted by the American Public Power Association (APPA).

KUA’s 2008 annual report, titled Hometown Solutions, won the Award of Merit in the digital category among electric utilities with gross annual revenues of $200-$399 million.

The awards were judged based on the effectiveness of the written text, design, graphics, navigation, financial data and clear communication of the utility’s story.

Developed as an informational resource, KUA’s 2008 annual report treats visitors to a whimsical online experience and allows them to learn about the utility while exploring the Kissimmee area along the way. The report features illustrations of familiar community landmarks, a short narrative at each stop, and complete financial highlights with downloadable statements, charts and graphs. The report is available online at http://www.kua.com/annualreport.

The award was presented this morning at the association’s annual Customer Connections Conference in Colorado Springs, Colo.

APPA has honored KUA annual reports previously with Awards of Excellence in 1996, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and an Award of Merit in 1995.
