KUA Board Elects Officers

KISSIMMEE, Fla., July 16, 2010 – Following the seating of a new board member, the Kissimmee Utility Authority board of directors on Wednesday held an election of officers.

Kissimmee attorney Fred Cumbie was elected chairman of the five-member board, real estate broker Jim Kasper was elected vice chairman, information technology manager Reginald Hardee was elected secretary and Dr. George Gant was elected assistant secretary. Retired school psychologist Kathleen Thacker, who joined the board on Wednesday, will serve as director.

Thacker will complete the unfinished term of Nancy Gemskie who resigned from her term three months early to run for a seat on the Osceola County School Board.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 62,000 customers in Osceola County, Fla.
