
The Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) received six awards for its entries in the 2001 Image Awards – an annual competition sponsored by the Orlando Area Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association.
The Image Awards competition is conducted annually to recognize outstanding local public relations programs and to encourage and promote the development of excellence in internal and external communications.
KUA was awarded 3 Image Awards and 3 Judges’ Awards at the April 26 banquet held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in
In the institutional category, KUA received both an Image and Judges’ Award for its image revitalization of the Roy E. Hansel power plant, including public education and tours, a giant painted mural, and the restoration of a historic steam whistle.
In the still photography category, KUA received a Judges’ Award for its 15th anniversary employee photo.
In the annual report category, KUA received an Image Award for its 2000 annual report.
In the poster and calendar category, KUA received both an Image and Judges’ Award for its 2001 Calendar of Electrical Safety.
Image Awards are the highest level of awards presented in a particular category, and Judges’ Awards recognize projects that receive maximum results using a minimum budget.
The entries will now advance to the state level of competition. Winners will be announced in July in
