KISSIMMEE, Fla., October 24, 12:00 noon – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) has completed the restoration of electric service to 1,547 homes and businesses that lost power Monday due to Hurricane Wilma.
At the peak of the storm at 7:09 a.m. Monday, two percent of the utility’s 58,000 customers were without electricity.
“We want to thank our customers for the patience they demonstrated as we worked to restore power,” said Jim Welsh, KUA’s president and general manager. “We are proud of our crews who worked in poor weather conditions to get the lights back on.”
Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
