KISSIMMEE, Fla., Dec. 19, 2006 – Mayra Padilla of Kissimmee received an early Christmas present today. She made her Kissimmee Utility Authority bill payment at an area 7-Eleven convenience store and is the recipient of a $282.64 holiday bonus.
Customers like Padilla who pay their KUA bill at 7-Eleven between Nov. 1, 2006 and January 31, 2007 will be entered to win a free month of utility service.
KUA has formed a strategic alliance with 7-Eleven to offer its customers hundreds of convenient bill payment locations throughout Florida, including 16 in Kissimmee. Each store contains a Vcom or “virtual commerce” kiosk where a bill can be paid using cash, checking account or ATM debit card.
To help customers get acquainted with the service, KUA is waiving the normal $1.50 transaction fee.
Each month during the three-month promotion, KUA will randomly draw the name of one residential customer who uses the Vcom kiosk to pay their bill. The winning customer will receive a credit on their account equal to the amount of their last monthly bill.
Padilla is the contest’s first winner and has received a $282.64 credit on her account.
Since the start of the contest customer payments via a Vcom kiosk are up 93 percent over a typical month. The top locations for customer payments are 7-Eleven stores located at 51 W. Vine Street, 1011 Buenaventura Lakes Blvd. and 3360 Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.
Complete contest details can be found in a bill stuffer inserted in December utility bills or online at www.kua.com/contest.
Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
