KUA Crews Head to Lakeland to Assist in Power Restoration

KISSIMMEE, Fla., September 9, 1:30 p.m. – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) on Wednesday sent crews to the Lakeland, Fla. area to assist with Hurricane Frances power restoration efforts.

Six line worker and tree trimming crews left Wednesday morning to assist Lakeland Electric for several days. The crews will work to help restore power directly into homes and businesses. Approximately 4,100 of Lakeland Electric’s customers are still without power.

KUA completed power restoration to 21,100 of its own customers in Kissimmee on Tuesday.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric service to 58,000 customers in Osceola County.
