KISSIMMEE, Fla., September 14, 8:25 am – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) customers are already feeling the effects of Tropical Storm Gabrielle this morning. At 8:12 am, approximately 100 customers in the Orange Gardens subdivision lost power when a tree fell into a primary wire that serves that area of Kissimmee. KUA crews are currently removing the debris and working to restore electric service.

During the next 24 hours, KUA expects to experience winds associated with Tropical Storm Gabrielle across ALL of its service territory. KUA advises its customers to check all circuit breakers or fuses to help determine if their outage might be the result of a household problem. To report an outage call KUA at 407-933-7777.

KUA’s is Florida‘s 7th largest community-owned utility serving 53,000 electric, water and Internet customers in four Central Florida counties. KUA is celebrating its 100th year of serving the community in 2001.
