KISSIMMEE, Fla., March 7, 3:00 pm – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) has inked a deal with MakeTheMove.com, a Denver-based, online relocation service. The sixth largest municipal utility in Florida, KUA provides utility services to 53,000 businesses and residential customers in Osceola County. Starting today, KUA customers can request electric service initiations, terminations, and transfers at the utility’s web site, www.kua.com.
The innovative service also allows relocating households to set up, transfer or disconnect their gas, cable TV, newspapers, telephone (local, long distance and wireless), Internet service, postal change of address and more. By filling out a few simple, secure online forms, consumers can execute multiple transactions in a convenient, one-stop shopping environment. This centralized service is free to the consumer, made possible by KUA.
“Typically, a household will transfer eight or more services and subscriptions when moving to a new address,” said Chris Gent, KUA’s manager of corporate communications. “KUA and MakeTheMove.com provide all necessary connections needed to expedite the time-consuming task of canceling and setting up services.”
KUA is Florida’s 6th largest community-owned utility serving 58,000 electric, water and Internet customers in four Central Florida counties. KUA celebrated its 100th year of serving the community in 2001.
