KISSIMMEE, Fla., June 24, 2:00 p.m. – In a continued effort to offer excellent service while serving large numbers of customers simultaneously, Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) today launched a new interactive voice response (IVR) system which allows customers to pay their utility bill over the telephone.

Equipped with voice recognition, the system allows customers to either speak their responses or use a touch-tone phone keypad for data entry. The system makes customer account information instantly and easily accessible — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Customers can check account balances, update account information and pay their bill. Payments can be made using Visa, MasterCard, Discover, debit cards and checks.

The IVR payment module is easy to use. The customer needs only to call KUA at 407-933-7777, enter the utility account number and follow the recorded menu prompts. Once the customer’s transaction is complete, he or she will receive a payment confirmation code.

A Spanish version of the system is currently under development and will be rolled out later this summer.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric, water and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
