
KISSIMMEE, Fla., October 12, 10:15 am – Internet users worldwide will be able to visit Kissimmee this weekend as part of a first-ever live event webcast of Viva Osceola Festival Latino on Sunday, October 14.
Visitors to a special web site – http://viva.kua.net – will be able to watch the 7-hour event using wireless video streaming equipment provided by KUA.net, the Internet division of Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA). KUA.net will be able to support up to 1,000 viewers simultaneously across its network during the webcast.
“This reinforces the power of the Internet,” said Chris Gent, KUA’s manager of corporate communications. “Our webcast of Viva Osceola will provide a tantalizing opportunity to many who are unable to attend the festival in person.”
In addition, KUA.net will offer a complimentary Cyber Café for those who wish to surf the World Wide Web or check personal e-mail while attending the Viva Osceola festival. The Café will use KUA.net’s state-of-the-art wireless network that delivers data at 11 Mbps (11 million bits per second) –- 200 times faster than a standard 56k dial-up connection!
