Visitors to a special web site – jazzfest.kua.net – will be able to watch the 7-hour musical event through a series of webcams and wireless video streaming equipment provided by KUA.net, the Internet division of Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA).
“This reinforces the power of the Internet,” said Chris Gent, KUA’s manager of corporate communications. “Our webcast of JazzFest Kissimmee will provide a tantalizing opportunity to many who are unable to attend the festival in person.”
1,600 Internet users from across the nation visited Kissimmee last October as part of a first-ever live event webcast of Viva Osceola Festival Latino. Since then, KUA.net has provided webcasting of the Osceola Art Festival in November and Kissimmee’s Holiday Extravaganza in December.
A production of the Kissimmee West Rotary Club, JazzFest Kissimmee will run from 12:00 noon – 7:00 pm at Kissimmee’s Lakefront Park. The festival includes well-known jazz musicians and artists, as well as performances by eight local middle and high school jazz bands.
KUA is Florida’s 6th largest community-owned utility serving 58,000 electric, water and Internet customers in four Central Florida counties. KUA celebrated its 100th year of serving the community in 2001.
