KISSIMMEE, Fla., January 29, 9:30 am —
Kissimmee Utility Authority, Florida’s sixth largest community-owned electric utility,
released its 2003 annual report today. An electronic version of the annual report is
available on KUA’s Web site at www.kua.com/corporate .
The report — titled “On” — features a financial summary of 2003 as well as a narrative on
the many ways electricity impacts our daily lives. Society has come to depend on electricity
as an essential resource for all aspects of modern life, including health, food and water,
heating and cooling, computers, electronics, communication and even entertainment. KUA’s
report brings attention to just a few of the many luxuries, conveniences and life-saving
devices that exist because electricity powers them.
“We chose ‘On’ as our theme because everything about KUA in 2003 was on,” said KUA president
and general manager Jim Welsh. “We were on target, on message and relied on. We worked hard,
and it showed.”
Audited financial statements in the report show increased residential customer growth in
2003 of 12 percent. Energy sales grew by 8.4 percent.
Printed copies of the report are available by contacting the utility’s Corporate
Communications department at P.O. Box 423219, Kissimmee, FL 34742-3219, or by phoning
