KISSIMMEE, Fla., August 25, 9:00 p.m. – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) crews worked throughout the day and into the night on Wednesday to restore power to customers across Osceola County. The utility reported Wednesday evening that 600 customers remain without power as a result of Hurricane Charley. As Central Florida’s hardest hit utility, KUA has successfully restored electric service to 57,400 customers capable of receiving power, or approximately 99 percent.
KUA expects to restore power to 100 percent by midnight Thursday – three full days ahead of its original restoration schedule of August 29.
Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric service to 58,000 customers in Osceola County.
